British Transport Police are appealing for information after a train hit a car at an uncontrolled level crossing in South Pembrokeshire earlier this week.

At approximately 7.25 am on Tuesday, a train hit a car at Beavers Hill Level Crossing, The Ridgeway, Manorbier.

The train struck the vehicle with a glancing blow, stopped briefly and continued its journey. There were no significant delays to the train service.

The vehicle, a black Vauxhall Corsa, was occupied at the time it was struck by the train, but there were no casualties and only minor damage to the 7.05 am Pembroke Dock to Swansea Arriva Trains service train.

British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them on freephone 0800 405040. All calls will be treated in confidence. Firefighters from Tenby also attended the incident, but no action was required from the brigade.
