I am writing to the Observer in the hope that someone can help me, as, although my gran died 12 years ago at the age of 80, I wondered if I might have any family living in Tenby which I don't know about.
My gran was born and raised in Tenby and, although I have never been there, I have been told by family members in the past that Tenby is quite a tightly-knit community. If this is the case, I am exited at the prospect of someone remembering her.
Her full name was Catherine Irene James, but she was known to some people as 'Kitty'. All I know is she moved to the North East of England when she was a young adult and rarely went back, but had very fond memories of the place. She married my granddad Kenneth Scaife.
I'm not sure how much you or anyone else can help me, but I remember my mother went there to visit a few years ago and a few people at the local pub remembered the name.
My mother has unfortunately passed away now, too, so cannot help me. I have tried to find the 'local' pub's email address, so I can email them, but couldn't find it.
I have never been to Wales as I was brought up in County Durham. My family never took me there.
I am now living in Australia, but plan to come back to visit family and hopefully finally visit Wales and more importantly Tenby!
If anyone can help or point me in the right direction, that would be fantastic.
