Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions sponsored Kilgetty Under 16s had their first evening fixture on Monday.

Conditions were ideal for football and after some good recent performances, Kilgetty were hoping for a good result, having only lost the previous fixture 1-0.

Kilgetty made a lively start and had plenty of possession, but nothing to show for their hard work. It was against the run of play when a good move from St. Clears was finished with a tidy header, even though Kilgetty's lack of marking was a major factor in the goal.

This stung Kilgetty into action and a good move down the right saw Issac Colqhoun finish with a well-struck shot into the corner.

Kilgetty continued to push forward and it was not long before Ricky Rees Thomas added a second with another tidy finish.

Kilgetty continued to push, forward but could not add to their lead before half-time, going into the break 2-1 ahead.

The second-half proved to be more even, but clear chances were few and far between and it was a relieved Kilgetty who celebrated at the final whistle.

In a keenly contested match, played in a good spirit by both teams, it was just reward for Kilgetty to get another win under their belts.

Kilgetty fielded: Michael Nicholas, Johnny Wilson, James Nicholas, Michael Smith, Ben Hughes (capt.), Dan Escott, Issac Colquoun, Marc Thomas, Adam Hughes, Ricky Rees Thomas, Nicholas Cope, Paul Woods, Ceri Worcester, Tom Christopher.

Kilgetty man-of-the-match: Ben Hughes.
