RNLI chief executive Paul Boissier, RNLI divisional inspector for the West, Colin Williams, and the volunteer lifeboat crew at Tenby Lifeboat Station will welcome HRH the Duke of Kent as he name's the relief lifeboat on behalf of the generous legacies and donors during a private service in the boathouse.
The relief Tamar class lifeboat was substantially funded by the legacy of the late Mrs. Winifred Adeline Freeman, from Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
During the ceremony, the Tamar class lifeboat will be named Victor Freeman in memory of Mrs. Freeman's son. The legacy, along with many other generous donations funded the £2.7M Tamar class lifeboat.
Colin Williams, RNLI divisional inspector said: "We are honoured that our president, HRH The Duke of Kent, has agreed to undertake the naming of this new relief lifeboat during his programme of visits to RNLI lifeboat stations in West Wales."
His Royal Highness will also be visiting RNLI volunteers at lifeboat stations in Little and Broad Haven, and Angle.
The Royal visit comes just over a week after Tenby welcomed His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall as part of the Pembrokeshire Fish Week celebrations.
