Pembrokeshire Lottery held its Autumn Superdraw last week and the lucky player who scooped the £8,000 prize was Verity Mitchell from St. Dogmaels with lottery number 36163.

The draw was broadcast live on 102.5 Radio Pembrokeshire and presenter James Southern rang Verity on air to break the happy news.

When asked what she’d be spending the money on, Verity said she would probably spend some on improvements to her garden and give some serious thought on where the remainder goes.

The usual weekly £2,000 prizes will continue until the Christmas Superdraw on Wednesday, December 6, which will see the prize increase to an impressive £10,000.

Pembrokeshire Lottery manager Abigail Owens said: “To date we have loaned out over £5.6million, interest free, to businesses in Pembrokeshire and this has been funded solely by our supporters paying their £1 a week to be entered into the weekly draws. The Pembrokeshire Lottery is a real success story of sustainable economic regeneration. With well over £2.5million awarded in prizes so far, it seems that just about everyone we speak to knows someone who has won!”
