Sunday, November 17, saw the annual church service of The Gild of Freemen of Pembroke

The service was held at the ancient parish church of St. Mary the Blessed Virgin, Pembroke, and was ably conducted by Canon Roger Jones, the Gild's chaplain, and the guest speaker, the Right Rev. Jonathan Lean.

Mr. Roy Folland, Master of the Gild of Freemen of Pembroke, read the first lesson, whilst his son Robin, the Deputy Master, followed with the second reading.

Following the church service, the ensemble then repaired to the Cleddau Bridge Hotel for their annual Sunday lunch.

Honoured guests included the chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, Clr. Arwyn William,s and his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, the Mayor and the Mayoress of Pembroke, Clr. and Mrs. Keith Nicholas, Clr. Mrs. Jane Phillips, the Mayor of Pembroke Dock, the Master of the Haverfordwest Gild of Freemen, Mr. Charles Davies and his wife Mrs Marion Davies, and the guest speaker and visiting clergy, the Right Rev. Jonathan Lean.

Grateful thanks as always goes to the Cleddau Bridge Hotel where as usual the staff delivered a high standard of service, as well as providing an excellent meal.
