Soroptimist International Tenby and District held their annual dinner event at the Giltar Hotel, Tenby, to raise money for British Heart Foundation Cymru (BHF) lifesaving heart research.

Iris Davies, president in 2017, chose BHF as her charity of choice as she suffered from a heart condition several years ago and is now leading a full and active life.

Iris Davies said: “We’re delighted to support the BHF as it’s a charity that is very close to my heart. We have raised £580 for BHF Cymru.”

Jayne Lewis, BHF fundraising manager for South West Wales, said: “I would like to say thank you to Iris for choosing BHF and also for raising funds throughout the year. Also a big thank you to all the members of the Soroptimist International Tenby and District for all their help and support with several events taking place throughout the year and I would also like to thank the local community for all the support and help they give the branch, it really makes such a difference. Heart and circulatory disease affects around seven million people in the UK and thanks to the Tenby Soroptimist we’ll be able to fund even more research into these conditions.”
