Sir, Your front page headline (Observer, November 12) really disturbed me. I sympathise with the lady in your report and have suffered similarly, except my dentist was available on a Saturday. The way she was treated is deplorable. Are we living in a civilised 21st Century or in medieval times? The United Kingdom is a member of the G8 richest countries on this planet. Nevertheless, we have no NHS dentists in our county with 'open books'. More are casting out NHS patients and insist they sign up to one form of private insurance plan or another. Which profession will next take this path? There has been much propaganda about how much money in 'percentage terms' has and is being put into NHS in Wales since the creation of the National Assembly. Animals seem to be treated far better then we humans. We pay our taxes and are taxed until we drop by stealth taxes. It's time for all our sakes and future generations to ask: 'Where has all this investment gone health secretary'?
