Sunday saw Tenby's Annual Open Fishing Festival, fished on the beaches of Amroth, Saundersfoot and Tenby.
Some 248 anglers (from all over South Wales and the West Country) fished the match in what can only be described as atrocious conditions, with winds touching severe gale nine at times and heavy, squally rain adding to the anglers' discomfort.
Of those who booked in, 13 brought fish back to scales (a surprise to all considering the weather).
First overall was Mark Cowell from Llantwit Major with a dogfish of 0.790kg, which won him £1,000.
Second was Emlyn Thomas from Narberth with a flounder of 0.670kg.
Joint third were C. L. Hickis from Milford Haven and W. Jones from Neath, each with a dogfish of 0.665kg.
Top lady angler (for the second year running) was Miss N. Beckett with a flounder of 0.410kg.
Top junior angler was Rob Walters with a Turbot of 0.625kg.
The team of two was won by father and son, Emlyn and Dan Thomas from Narberth, with a combined weight of 1.200kg.
Tenby Angling Club would firstly like to thank all those anglers that turned out on Sunday, secondly the Ex-Servicemen's Club in Tenby for allowing them to hold the weigh-in there and thirdly, the tackle shops around the county for taking pre-match bookings (Tenby Angling, Pembroke Angling, County Sports, Milford Angling Supplies and Anglers Corner).
The club looks forward to seeing you all again next year, on October 26, when it is hoped the weather will be a little kinder.
