Sunday, October 20 sees Tenby and District Angling Club's annual prestigious fishing Festival take place along the beaches of Tenby, Saundersfoot and Amroth.

Anything up to 350 anglers from all around Wales and from as far afield as the West Country, will all be taking part in this well known event, competing for a prize fund of over £2,000.

There will be prizes for individual beach zones, the best lady anger, and best junior angler. The overall winner is guaranteed a minimum of haul of £1000!

The predominant species caught tends to be flounder, which means that anglers of all ages and abilities have an excellent chance of featuring in the money. But Bass, Mullet, Dogfish, Dabs and many other species have all featured over the last 20 years or so of the Festival, which always produces a few surprises. In last year's event over 400 fish were weighed in!

The competition will commence at 10.30 am, culminating with the weigh in, at 3.30 pm to be held at the Tenby Ex-Servicemen's Club. There will also be a raffle with many prizes, and hot food available for all.

Pre match booking is available at local tackle shops throughout the county, or on the day at Wimpy Restaurant Saundersfoot; Amroth Arms and the Ex-Servicemen's Club in Tenby, opposite the Five Arches.
