THE Great Northern Roadshow is a perfect matching of three virtuoso musicians from the north-east of England - Tom McConville, Pauline Cato and Terry Docherty. They will perform at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, for the first of Span Arts 'March Music Month' events on Thursday, March 6.

Their performance features lively dance music played with an irresistible swing, delicate slow airs, driving rhythms, and the finest singing.

Tom McConville's fine Irish fiddling and Pauline Cato's stirring Northumbrian pipes have been recognised as classic music making. They have toured extensively since 1995 throughout the UK, Europe, USA, Scandinavia and even New Zealand. Their CDs have been named by the Daily Telegraph as the Folk Album of the Year. Their music has been described as 'absolutely magnificent... stunning', 'astounding and innovative'.

The fiddle and pipes blend together effortlessly to produce a unique and full sound. When combined with Terry Docherty's subtle finger style guitar and Tom's rich singing, the result is fantastic - an acoustic show not to be missed.

This is a rare opportunity to experience some of Britain's finest folk music in an entertaining and enjoyable way. Great music, great song, great fun! You can visit their website http://www.tomcatmusic.com">www.tomcatmusic.com to get more information.

Opening the evening will be singer and fiddler Emily Williams from Druidston. Emily is back in the county after gaining fame in America as a member of Ember, an acoustic threesome who weave delicious harmony voices through their own original songs. Emily has a beautiful voice and fiddle technique.

Tom McConville will give a fiddle workshop at 5 pm in the Span building for competent players who are looking to pick up tips and tunes (£3, booking essential) and the doors will open at 8 pm. Tickets £6 concessions £5.
