Matters discussed at the May meeting of Amroth Community Council were the following:

Planed: Saundersfoot Kilgetty as the hub, meeting June 9, St. Brides Hotel. Everyone invited.

Blue Flag: Fingers crossed for next year.

Coastal path: Council was still awaiting interpretive signage for car park and around flag pole if that is possible. Clr. Brinsden would raise this issue again with National Park. He did stress that there was a real shortage of available funds for this year so council may have to wait.

Coast Care Group: A councillor said she would contact the beach clean leaders to see if there were any plans for further cleans prior to main summer season.

Enhancement of promenade: Clr. Brinsden reported that this was now in hand.

County Councillor's report: Clr. Brinsden reported that the quarry had gained the temporary planning permission and that there had since been many complaints from residents about the speed and quantity of the quarry lorries. There was a new bridleway opening from the middle of Pleasant Valley to the Old Post Office in Stepaside. A 20 mph speed limit would be in operation for resurfacing at Crosslands, Llanteg; Merrixton Cross to Stepaside and through the 30 mph limit in Stepaside.

Sewage: The judicial review at Freshwater East had been completed and Welsh Water lost the case, hence it was now possible that the sewage system through Pleasant Valley and Stepaside would be reinstated.

Morgan's Way, corner by Pen Glyn: The 'slow' road markings requested some months ago were still not done. It was now two years since it was first raised. Council agreed that a letter should be sent to the CEO at Pembrokeshire County Council detailing concern about a general lack of response over several months to community council correspondence and subsequent actions sought.

Bus shelter: Action was still awaited. There was a unanimous vote by councillors as to the necessity of a shelter in this spot.

Pleasant Valley path: This had been dealt with promptly by Tim Jones, National Park, and the item could now come off the agenda.

Lay-by in Summerhill: The old tyres were still there and waiting removal. The drain in the lay-by was still blocked and there was still no sign prohibiting overnight parking. All these items had been raised on several occasions over the last few months/year.

Slip-way to beach by New Inn: This was being looked into. Ownership was being determined and council would be kept informed.

Dog-fouling signs in Summerhill: Some of this work had been done in Amroth, but larger signage was still needed, especially at Summerhill.

Major problem in Amroth regarding drainage: Clr. Brinsden was looking into this and he reported that this was now in the work schedule.

Road at front and back of council houses in Summerhill: This was currently being addressed. One of the councillors had written to Nerys Evans AM disputing private ownership of some of the council houses and as yet there had been no reply. However, some of the pot- holes had been filled in on the road.

Drains at Meadow House Caravan: A letter was to go to PCC to get these cleared out.

Road from Wiseman's Bridge to the bridge in Wiseman's: The work to repair the road had been done and the item could now be removed from the agenda.

Derelict chalet opposite Amroth Arms: Nothing had been done yet. Another window had been broken.

Textile Recycling Bank in Llanteg: Folly Cross was the desired site and a meeting is being set up to look at this.

White steps need painting on sea front in Amroth: This work had still not been done. It was suggested that it would be better to remove the steps altogether. Clr. Brinsden would follow this up.

Trees beyond the hedge at crossroads by Folly Cross: The obstruction problem was now resolved.

Implications of amendment to parking restrictions in Amroth: A car parking sign was still not positioned by Temple Bar to advise of free parking available in village .

Horses on promenade: No action as yet. Although it was reported that one of the councillors had spoken with some of the horse owners and that they had agreed not to use this part of the beach.

Planning: Clr. Brinsden took no part in this agenda item. He informed council that he would be standing down as chair of the National Park Development Management Committee in June, although he would still be a member of the committee.

Meadow House, Summerhill, Amroth - conversion of existing dwelling to 4x2 bed and two bedsit holiday apartments (no objection).

Ael Y Don - extensions and alterations to provide annex and double garage (no objection).

Correspondence: Tinkers Hill - thank you letter and request for further funding; Wales Air Ambulance - certificate of thanks; Public Bridleway Order and Public Notice - Kilgetty/Begelly - public path creation order

Matters for discussion at the next meeting: It was reported that there was a nasty corner - Hooper's corner - in Pleasant Valley where cow parsley was growing into the road. This needed cutting back as it was causing problems to road users.

It was reported that there was a significant dip in the road just past Summerhill farm and the Leys. Could this be filled please?

It was reported that Llanteg Community Association had arranged a village walk for Sunday, August 2. Publicity would be going out about this. On Saturday, August 29, in Village Garden, Llanteg, there would be country crafts for children followed by a late afternoon barbecue. Everyone is welcome.

It was reported that the Amroth sign at the crossroads in Summerhill was often missed by drivers. Can this be moved about two meters towards Summerhill to prevent this happening?

The Community Council annual church service in August will be held at Stepaside Chapel on Sunday, August 9, at 11 am.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, July 23, at 7 pm in Amroth Parish Hall.
