The amazing achievement of two friends who took part in the recent Long Course Weekend was recognised at a meeting of Tenby Town Council this week.

Nicky Rees and Gareth Scotcher were both presented with framed town council achievement certificates and Tenby town medals at a function held in the Mayor's parlour on Tuesday night.

"I was honoured to be at the finishing line to greet the pair when they completed the challenge. It was a wonderful feeling and their faces told the whole picture," said Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.

"It's great to have the chance to congratulate them tonight," she added.

Ross Grieve, managing director of Dirty Green Trainers Sports Photography Agency, was also on hand to present to the duo two canvas enlargements from a photograph that one of his photographers took during the Sunday marathon as a tribute to Nicky and Gareth's achievement.
