Staff at Noah's Ark Nursery, Narberth, were recently awarded a gold plaque for commitment shown to the Designed to Smile oral health improvement programme.

The gold award is given for participation in the daily tooth-brushing programme for a period of three years.

Designed to Smile is an all-Wales programme aimed at improving the dental health of children and therefore reducing levels of dental decay.

Tara Gover (co coordinator and oral health educator) said: "I am very proud to award Hayley and her staff with this award. Noah's Ark is one of two day nurseries in Pembrokeshire to achieve gold status to date. Hayley has worked hard with both Designed to Smile and the All-Wales Healthy Pre School Scheme to ensure that children attending at this young age are given the opportunities to learn these important life skills and healthy eating habits. The children enjoy the tooth-brushing as part of their daily routine."
