In reply to Mr. Bill Nightingaler and dog (March 27), yes the Crown Inn, Penally, is closed and dilapidated; also an eyesore.

As he mentioned, it is a splendid location, in the centre of Penally - a beautiful location, I cannot imagine why he left?

Holiday homes, second homes, we already have enough of these in Penally. When he lived in the village, perhaps he should have stayed for the winter months and supported the local businesses. Why do you think the Crown Inn closed?

I say, 'let common sense prevail' and build affordable houses for local people, not cheap second homes and holiday homes for 'fat cats' from London and the SE.
