The annual Mia's Appeal Summer 7 took place on Saturday. This year there was a sailors theme and 25 lovely ladies braved the not too pleasant Pembrokeshire weather to support Cystic Fibrosis. The usual seven-mile route around Pembrokeshire was followed, starting at Kilgetty Sports Club, then to Wiseman's Bridge where the fun began with a boat deck relay - there were two teams each with a tray of six plastic pint glasses filled with water and the ladies had to race around the deck without spilling the water... only to say, the ladies need not have worried about the rain! Between the Chemist Inn and Captain's Table, onlookers may have seen more frolics with the ladies attempting to look very interesting in their attempt to mimic sideways walking, beach living creatures! On to New Hedges Tavern and the fundraisers were once again spoilt by Ann's fantastic hospitality. Next stop was the rugby club in Tenby where the soggy ladies were kindly able to freshen up for a night on the town - thanks Dominque. The group also visited the Lifeboat Tavern where every sailor received a complimentary shot! Total raised was £424.96 and thanks go not only to everyone who donated, but especially to the most amazing, supportive, loyal, fun ladies, who pulled out all the stops (and coats and brollies) to ensure the day was a success and that more funds were raised to ensure there is a future for Mia and many others like her who have CF.
