Boasting unrivalled facilities in the area - Hotel Plas Hyfryd has become not only a great asset to the thriving town of Narberth, but also an essential feature in the country-wide community. Now, the popular hotel, run by proprietors David and Jackie Jones, is gearing up for this year's 'Wedding Fayre', to be held at the premises on Sunday, June 8. Entry to the fayre, which will be open between 11 am and 4 pm, is free and will give a chance for brides, grooms and their families to enjoy the Plas Hyfryd's space and atmosphere, while at the same time do some serious forward planning. The hotel's major refurbishment of its fine Georgian building two years ago gave rise to the 135-seater Ludlow Suite, which has provided the attractive setting for many elegant and stylish weddings and gala evenings (the licence covers up to 250 guests). The development of the terrace as a lawned garden with its distinctive fountain extends the scope of the function rooms for open-air dining, or simply provides guests with the opportunity to wander outside and enjoy a warm summer evening. On the day of the event, the hotel, which is licensed for civil marriage and partnership ceremonies, will be resplendent with all the finery associated with a successful wedding - including vintage cars and wedding cars aligning the front terrace. Services provided by more than 20 local wedding suppliers will be on display throughout the ground floor function rooms - from photographers to DJs, cake designers to florists, dressmakers to beauticians, ideas will be in abundance for brides- to-be. Hotel Plas Hyfryd itself boasts a wide range of wedding menu's, with choices of Sun Dried Tomato, Mozzarella and Prawn Parcels served with a Basil and Cream Sauce or Melon with Prosciutto Ham and Citrus Fruits as an example of starters, main courses include traditional roasts with all the trimmings or Pot Roasts Loin of Pork served with Apricot, Prune and Sage Stuffing. Vegetarians and children are always welcome and catered for. Dates are now being booked for 2009 and as far ahead as 2010 so it can never be too early to book that date for your special day.
