This year saw Tenby Youth Centre provide five weeks of activities and a youth club open two days a week. This was also the first full activity week provided by the youth service in Pembrokeshire. Activities provided in Tenby were a trip to Afan Lido leisure swimming pool and shopping at McArthur Glenn, Bridgend. An arts day in Haverfordwest, ranging from DJ mixing to street dance; and a day at Brawdy Army Barracks with puzzle solving activities, involving camouflage and landmine clearance and ending with a 20-minute trip in an armoured personnel carrier. There was also an adventure day at Pembrey Country Park, finishing the week with a day's sailing at Pembrokeshire Water Sports, with 13 young people gaining their RYA stage one. Tenby Youth Centre also had enjoyable day trips to Heatherton and Cardiff. Earlier this year, a group of young girls from Tenby Youth Club arranged a trip to see Blazing Squad and are planning to see other groups in Cardiff CIA. There will also be another Alton Towers trip this year and hopefully another Midnight Ice-skating visit to Cardiff. If you have not visited Tenby Youth Centre yet or have not been for a while, please come along and have a look. We have been recently redecorated and can offer more opportunities to young people in and around Tenby. You don't have to live in Tenby to come in and take part. Tenby will be holding the first inter youth club dance mat competition and are looking for stars of the dance mat to represent them in the event. So if darts or table tennis is what you thought we only take part in, then come and have another look at Tenby Youth Club. There is a Tenby Youth Centre noticeboard in Greenhill School by the vending machines, which will have all sport and activity information to keep you up to date. Please try to remember, when it's wet and cold at night in Tenby and you think there's no where to go, call in and speak to either Sarra, John, Ann, Phillipa or Anthony. We are here to help.
