West Wales Crusaders converged on Groveland last Saturday. Over 100 young people, leaders and parents enjoyed a day of fun packed activities.
The event was arranged by West Wales Area Chairman Anthony Standing, supported by the leaders of the four Pembrokeshire Groups from Saundersfoot, Pembroke Dock, Neyland and Fishguard.
After a morning of fun, everyone converged on the picnic area for welcome refreshments. Geoff Beckingham, of Open Air Campaign Ministries entertained the group over lunch time with his magic colouring book. His book with blank pages wasn't very interesting so he asked everyone to "draw in the air," their favourite bible story and blow the pictures to him. Pictures appeared in his book as he flicked the pages, but it was supposed to be a colouring book and the pictures were black and white. Everyone was asked to "colour in their pictures" and blow the colours to the book. How surprised everyone was to see that as the pages turned the drawings were now brightly coloured.
He told the group that the book reminded him of peoples' lives. Some are like the blank book ready to receive pictures whilst others have got some pictures but still have something missing. The full colour pages represented those people who have Jesus in their heart and life and are complete.
The afternoon continued with another round of rides and activities and everyone agreed it had been a great day out.
The next area event will be in November when teams from each group will compete for the West Wales Unihoc Challenge Cup at Pembroke Dock.
