On Saturday, a group of 16 ramblers met at Penally Railway Station car park for a 13.5-mile walk.
Although the morning began with heavy rain, it soon brightened up and became sunny, allowing fine views of Tenby, Caldey Island, and the surrounding countryside.
The walk began along Tenby South Beach, before crossing Tenby and following the lane past the aquarium to the main road, where the party turned into the wooded path through Knightston Bottom and Scotsborough Woods.
After crossing the Gumfreston road, the walkers traversed the Ritec wetlands, before following the Ritec Walk path across fields to St. Florence.
The route then crossed The Ridgeway to Lydstep, which gave extensive views of the valley and Tenby.
An invigorating walk along the coast path back to Penally completed the excursion.
The next walk will be this Sunday, November 1, at 11 am. This is a short walk in the Druidston area, meeting at Broad Haven car park (grid ref. 863 141). The leader is Irene Warlow (01646 683916).
On November 7, there will be a medium walk in the Llanddewi Velfrey area, starting from Lampeter Velfrey (grid ref: 155 144) at 10.30 am. The leader is Jean Morris (01348 872696).
