As the darkness gently moves across the Pembrokeshire skies at the end of the longest day 2014, you are invited to come and walk a candlelit labyrinth as part of the Dancing for Peace exhibition. The labyrinth is an ancient symbol of transformation and contemplation, which is part of the traditions of many cultures. Walking the labyrinth in the beautiful setting of the Little Wedlock Gallery in Gumfreston, near Tenby, with the sea in the distance, will provide an opportunity for personal quiet, and a chance to reflect on the messages of peace and conflict which surround the labyrinth, and can be seen in the 'Dancing for Peace' exhibition. You will then be able to enjoy the company of others round a bonfire, and, if you wish, camp out for the shortest night of the year. This part of the evening will develop from about 9 pm. Earlier in the evening on Saturday, at 7 pm, Shona Bossom will run a Biodanza Workshop in the village hall in St. Florence. Biodanza offers an opportunity to dance with others, finding our own dance to celebratory and moving music, and enjoying meeting other people in the movement. Prior to the Biodanza, you are welcome to join a 'Bring and Share' meal at Little Wedlock Gallery, and visit the exhibition. On Sunday, at 3 pm, the woodland magic continues, when Reconnect presents 'Our time with nature - a presentation in word, voice, image, art and film'. Reconnect take people into the outdoors, teaching skills and encouraging people to use the arts to express their experience of the natural world. Their Tipi is currently at Little Wedlock as part of the exhibition, showing a range of work including painting, photography, pottery, poetry and writing. They intend to launch their first book of participants' work during the exhibition. The exhibition opened last weekend, with a very successful private view, followed by an evening of Circle Dance. Artwork ranges from Amy Scott's walk-in installation, to Anne Gregson's challenging canvases, and a range of intriguing work done by Tina Lewis's art students in response to the title of the exhibition. The exhibition is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm. The work includes a variety of media, and spills out from the gallery into the courtyard, meadow and farmhouse. Prints and cards will be on sale, as well as a Fairtrade stall and other merchandise.
