Local people are set to benefit from the latest investment in the area which will see the five-star Celtic Haven in Lydstep developed into a conference and events centre.
The latest state-of-the-art golf and spa facilities, which are being built as part of the £1 million refurbishment programme at Celtic Haven, will also be open to the general public for year-round leisure use.
Currently a holiday village owned by The Vox Group, Celtic Haven will be upgraded and relaunched later this month with specialist facilities to make it an attractive venue in which to hold business and corporate events:
£700,000 is being invested in creating a luxury marine health spa suite. Seven specialist treatment rooms are being built, using innovative spa therapies from the USA involving internationally recognised mineral and salt water treatments.
A £200,000 golf academy is being constructed to incorporate the latest £50,000 indoor golf simulator from the USA, one of only two in the UK. The current golf course is being repositioned to create a challenging golf experience. A golf pro shop is being constructed next to the Golf Academy.
A state-of-the-art conference room is being built with the latest presentation technology, including broadcast quality projection, theatre sound audio systems and video conference facilities.
A series of mountain board runs are being created on the land surrounding Celtic Haven, graded according to their difficulty ranging from green through to blue, red and black.
Philip Evans, chairman of The Vox Group and the Wales Tourist Board, said: "While we have developed Celtic Haven specifically with the corporate market in mind, we were also keen to create a facility that local people can enjoy.
"The new development provides added-value to local residents who want to make the most of our five-star golf and leisure facilities as well as holidaymakers to the area, who want to try something a little bit different as part of their stay."
The fitness suite at Celtic Haven is also being upgraded as part of the refurbishment and the new business centre will provide delegates with free use of lap tops and other business facilities.
This is in addition to the existing facilities of an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and tanning room. The 60-cover first class Marquee Restaurant was introduced last year, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. When full, up to 100 delegates can be housed in the 26 luxury cliff-top cottages, many of which date back to the 12th Century.
Philip Evans continued: "Business tourism is an important market to attract to Wales. It is resilient, non-seasonal and attracts high disposable income clients that can ensure year-round prosperity.
"Celtic Haven has proved itself to be hugely successful. It has always been a landmark development for the area and this latest investment makes it eminently suitable for the corporate sector. It particularly suits businesses looking to host more intimate conferences where delegates can really shut themselves off from the world and focus on the task at hand.
"We understand that, to make Celtic Haven successful in the business sector, it has to be developed to a world class standard. I believe we have now done this with our latest investment.
"Its attractiveness comes from its inherent uniqueness - after all it's not many places that can boast having break out rooms in 12th Century cottages!"
As well as activities on site, Celtic Haven can also offer a range of additional team building activities. These include coast-steering (jumping off cliffs and rocks on the coastline, which is unique to the Pembrokeshire area), quad biking, laser clay pigeon shooting, kayaking, sailing, surfing and wind surfing.
Celtic Haven will be open for public use from Monday, June 9. For further information or to make a booking contact 01834 845777.
