Sir,
An open letter to the leader, chief executive officer and all cabinet members of Pembrokeshire County Council.
Pembrokeshire Today is a far cry from what it was and what it should be since the introduction of your Problem Parking measures. In future you will be judged by what you do - not by what you say in YOUR magazine.
If it was, once, that decency, complete honesty and a moral duty of care was ever part of your draconian and unnecessary measures then, it seems, you lost your way somewhere between YOUR privileged parking facility and your offices where this nightmare was spawned. Somewhere your need for making money took over and foresaking all else you have become wedded to this desire no matter what the consequences, what the cost to Pembrokeshire Today.
Do you all have your heads so deeply buried in Tenby and Saundersfoot sands that you are totally unaware of the chaos you are causing?
Now look, if it's dangerous parking, deal with it. But not this way, not this way.
You are making a very good job, I am told, of disabling town and village alike.
The heavy-handed, arrogant way you have handled this issue has been a PR and operational disaster from the outset.
Community is suffering and it is by your hand. Pembrokeshire people, it is strongly believed, are keeping away from the town - rather like many of your meetings. Why go when it seems to them that the outcome is a foregone conclusion?
So, time for a change? We earnestly hope so, and while we are all gathered together here, let's start with some openness.
We ask the question once again to you all, to each and every one of you, have you applied for wheel-clamping powers?
Ken Fryer,
Tenby.
