International Nurses' Day was marked at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, by a display celebrating the nursing profession and the valuable role nurses play in ensuring people get the best possible health care.
The hospital's head of nursing and quality, Chris Hayes, underlined the importance of sharing with patients and the public the varied roles nurses undertake and their valuable contribution in a changing health care environment.
The display detailed no less than 17 nursing initiatives taking place in Pembrokeshire and Derwen Trust. These include new roles in cancer research, bereavement support and pre-admission clinics, together with setting up a patient support group and obtaining 'patient stories' to share and learn from.
The display will move around the county's health care centres over the next few weeks before being presented at a national nursing conference in Llandudno in July.
