Local MP Simon Hart has described the closure of Tenby's Minor Injuries Unit as a 'big blow'.
"Residents have fought a long campaign to keep the unit open and this is devastating news," he said.
"Despite what the health board says, I still think that to leave a tourist town like Tenby without this cover during the summer months is crazy.
"The health board's fugures show there were 224 patients through the summer and that 19 per cent of them needed care in the Emergency Department at Withybush - that tells me that 42 people would have been able to get care immediately in Tenby before being transferred to Haverfordwest.
"To me these figures justify keeping the MIU open, especially in the summer, not closing it."
