The family of Jack Walker, have paid tribute to their loving son and ‘a great friend to all’.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “On the afternoon of May 1, police officers attended Milford Haven Port, following a report that a man had been rescued from the water approximately a mile off the coast. Sadly, he passed away.”

The incident prompted a major multi-agency response, with emergency services including Angle RNLI’s lifeboat crew, coastguards and air rescue all on the scene after being alerted to reports of a man in the water near the port of Milford Haven at around 3 pm, on the afternoon of Thursday, May 1.

The thirty-five-year-old was treated at the Port Authority jetty by ambulance crews and critical care medics, but despite extensive efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead.

The air ambulance landed on the grounds at Milford Haven Rugby Club, and its crew were transported to the jetty to assist with the emergency.

A spokesperson for the Wales Air Ambulance said: “Our Caernarfon-based crew arrived on the scene by air at 3.12 pm. Our involvement concluded at 4.03 pm.”
