Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild are delighted to thank everyone in the locality and other parts of the UK for supporting this year’s Annual Quiz in aid of the RNLI.

As previously announced, the 2020 quiz winners were ladies from Lancashire, who always buy their sheets from late Guild member and quiz author Cynthia Field.

Trees and shrubs proved to be a very popular quiz topic, raising a phenomenal £757.20 for the RNLI, with every penny going to the charity.

“RNLI lifeboats and crew kit have to be first class, as does the equipment for our very essential seasonal lifeguard service so £757.20 will totally pay for three RNLI lifeguard wetsuits for example,” said Daphne Bush from the Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild.

“Guild President, Jennie McIntosh is devising our quiz for 2021, which will be available just before the May 31 start date.

“Finally, a very special mention and thank you again to Valero and Pembroke businesses - Motts Butcher, Long Meadow Bakery, The Corn Store and Brown’s Restaurant for selling quiz sheets this year.

“Your commitment, supporting our member’s sales, has been more vital than ever this year, owing to the restrictions in selling quiz sheets at events.

“We look forward to working with you all again in 2021, fundraising to maintain the vital free 365 day, 24/ 7 rescue services provided by the RNLI in the UK and Republic of Ireland,” she added.
