The town’s lifeboat volunteers responded at around 6.20 pm to the report, with the crew making best speed to the area in rough seas in the Haydn Miller lifeboat.
Once on the scene, they spotted the casualties on rocks near Lydstep Point.
With a large swell running and with diminishing light, the Y-Boat was launched with two crew members aboard and made its way into the rocks.
Despite the difficult conditions, the volunteer crew managed to get the three people aboard the Y-Boat, before bringing them out to the safety of the all-weather lifeboat, where they were checked over to make sure they didn’t need medical treatment.
With the swell on the beach meaning returning them to Lydstep was impossible, the casualties were brought back to the lifeboat station at Tenby.
