A Tenby woman has been banned from getting behind the wheel of a car for 14 months after driving home drunk.
Forty-two-year-old Jacquline Probert, of Warren Street, pleaded guilty to the charge when she appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Ellie Morgan told the court that on Wednesday, May 14, police officers on patrol in Tudor Square around 9.45 pm, had their attention drawn to the defendant who staggered towards her parked vehicle.
“She was seen opening the driver’s door and put the headlights on, before swerving her vehicle to try and turnaround to drive up High Street.
“At one point it looked like she nearly collided with a parked vehicle, before she turned on the junction at White Lion Street and headed down to Warren Street where she was stopped. Ms Probert smelt of alcohol and her speech was slurred,” continued Ms Morgan.
A roadside breath test proved positive and she was arrested. At the police station a further test showed that she had 50 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, the court heard.
Magistrates disqualified Ms Probert for 14 months and fined her £120 for the offence.
She was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
