Tenby RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was requested to launch at 4.15pm on Sunday, July 26, after the coastguard received a report that two people were cut off by the tide under the Atlantic Hotel, below the Esplanade.

The volunteer crew were on scene within a minute of launching and quickly found the casualties on the steps below the hotel.

They were taken aboard the boat, where they were checked over to ensure they didn’t require medical assistance, before being returned to Castle Beach nearby.

The inshore lifeboat was launched to a similar incident on July 14 after the coastguard received several 999 calls stating that four adults and two children were cut off by the incoming tide on the beach below the Imperial Hotel.
