Tenby RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat was requested to launch at 1.40pm on Friday, August 29, after the Coastguard received a report that two swimmers had been washed onto the rocks near Skrinkle.

Arriving on scene around 10 minutes later, the volunteer crew spotted the swimmers safe and well on the rocks, but the swell meant that the Y-boat wasn't going to have the power to get into the rocks and get safely out again with the casualties onboard, so the inshore lifeboat was requested to launch to assist.

The boat was on scene shortly afterwards and the crew set up the anchor so that helmsman could veer down through the swell into the rocks and rescue the casualties.

With the swimmers now safely on board, they were checked over to make sure they had no injuries, before being dropped ashore, where they were met by members of Tenby and St Govans Coastguard rescue teams.

The lifeboats then returned to station, arrving at 3.15pm.
