Both of Tenby RNLI’s lifeboats were requested to launch at around 1am on Thursday, August 13, after the coastguard received a call stating that a person may be in difficulty in the water off Tenby’s South Beach.

The inshore lifeboat was quickly launched and arrived on scene within minutes.

The volunteer crew spoke to the person who had made the initial 999 call, who confirmed that the individual was now safely out of the water and had made their way up the beach.

A spokesperson for Tenby RNLI said: “With this information, and with no other persons reported to be in difficulty, the all-weather lifeboat launch was cancelled, and the inshore lifeboat returned to station.”
