A Tenby man has been fined in court after admitting possessing drugs.

Thirty-seven-year-old Cornelius James O’Connor, of The Glebe, pleaded guilty to three charges of possessing 769 microgrammes of MDMA; 6.06 grams of Amphetamine; and 38.8 grams of cannabis, when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court last week.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that police officers stopped the defendant in his vehicle shortly after 2 am on December 17 of last year, and detected a smell of cannabis.

On searching the vehicle, officers found bags containing a quantity of drugs inside a computer base.

Officers accepted that the drugs were for Mr. O’Connor’s personal use after finding no evidence of dealing.

Magistrates fined the defendant a total of £200 for the offences, and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
