Tenby RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was requested to launch shortly after 4.30pm on Wednesday, April 29, following a report that a kite surfer looked to be in difficulty between Tenby and Caldey Island.
The volunteer crew we quickly on the water and made best speed to the reported position, but were unable to locate anybody in difficulty, so extended their search towards Giltar Point and then onto Priory Bay at Caldey Island.
With the area thoroughly searched by sea and with Tenby Coastguard Rescue Team unable to locate anything from the shore and with nobody reported missing, the incident was deemed as a false alarm and the lifeboat was stood down to return to station, arriving at 5.20pm.
