A?teenager from Pembroke has been handed a 12 month conditional discharge after he admitted dishonestly collecting sponsor money for a cancer charity, which he kept for himself.
Nineteen-year-old Alfie Shelley of St. Nicholas Crescent, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on wednesday (Februray 6) to plead guilty to a charge of fraud, following an incident where he was caught pretending to be an official collector for Cancer Research UK on November 16 in Whitland and Lamphey.
Magistrates handed the defendent a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
