ST DAVIDS RNLI Lifeboat has issued important advice to call 999 and ask for the coastguard if you see anyone in difficulty at the coast.

The advice came after they were tasked on Wednesday, August 19 to reports of a kayaker in difficulty in Whitesands Bay.

“Shortly after launching we were stood down and returned to station,” said a post on the RNLI St Davids Lifeboat Facebook page.

“We’d like to remind the public that if you see anyone in difficulty at the coast, to call 999 and ask for the coastguard.

“We’d always rather be tasked and stood down, than not be tasked at all.”
