Tenby RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat was launched at 9.25pm on Monday, May 19, after an undesignated Digital Selective Calling (DSC) distress alert was received from a vessel in a position 22 miles south-west of the seaside town.
The volunteer crew made best speed to the area, along with Angle Lifeboat RNLI all-weather lifeboat and Coastguard Rescue helicopter 187.
Taking just 55 minutes to cover the distance, the lifeboat arrived on scene shortly after the Angle crew, who were already setting up a tow following a request from the solo skipper of the vessel.
With Angle lifeboat having the situation well in hand and no more assistance required, all other assets were stood down to return to station, with Tenby arriving at 11.30pm.
