Angle RNLI lifeboat crew have paid tribute, following today’s developments in the Port of Pembroke, after a body was found, following a month long search for a missing man.
Police have confirmed that a body was found in the Port of Pembroke on Sunday (April 16) bringing an end to the search for a local man who went missing in the area last month.
Dyfed-Powys Police said on Sunday afternoon that the family of missing Jai Holroyd had been informed of the development.
Forty-year-old Jai was reported missing last month, with police launching a land and sea search on March 20.
Police officers, along with RNLI and Coastguard rescue teams were called to the Port of Pembroke this afternoon; with specialist officers and a police scientific support unit also spotted at the scene by locals.
A spokesperson for Angle RNLI stated: “Angle Lifeboat crew were paged at 11.08 am today to assist with an incident at the Port of Pembroke.
“The lifeboat launched and collected a police officer from the port authority jetty, before proceeding up the Haven. Upon arriving on scene, the Y boat was deployed to assist with the incident.
“Working alongside officers from Dyfed Powys Police, Coastguard Rescue teams from Dale and St Govan’s and a full time Coastguard Senior Officer.
“The lifeboat provided assistance on scene for approximately two hours before they were released to return to station, arriving back and readied for service once again at 1.45 pm.
“Our thoughts are with the casualty’s family and friends at this difficult time,” they added.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “A body was found in the water at Pembroke port at 11am, today - Sunday, April 16,” said a police spokesperson
“While formal identification has not been possible, the family of missing Jai Holroyd has been informed of the development. They are receiving support from specially trained officers.

“HM Coroner has also been informed. The death is being treated as unexplained,” they added.
