A Templeton pensioner has been committed to jail once again after her latest convicton for making nuisance phone calls to the emergency services

Seventy-two-year-old Ann Gateley, of Chapel Hill Lane, Cold Blow, appeared from custody at Haverfordwest Magistrates court on Friday after being charged with persistently using the 999 system to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.

Mrs. Gateley who pleaded guilty to the latest charge was most recently given a 20 week sentence in March for a similar offence, only days after being sentenced to jail before Christmas for similar matters.

On this occasion magistrates sentenced her to 20 weeks in prison as they regarded the offence so serious because of her past record and severity of the offence, which was committed whilst on post sentence supervision.

Mrs. Gateley was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £115 victim surcharge.
