Police in Pembrokeshire have made an arrest after conducting an illegal e-bike operation in relation to anti-social behaviour.

Masked e-bike riders plaguing the area given cause to the community over the past few months.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “On September 5 and 6, officers from Pembroke Dock conducted an illegal e-bike operation which saw officers tackling the increasing issue of e-bikes being ridden dangerously and causing anti-social behaviour.

“The operation involved several overt and covert tactics as well as the use of specialist departments.

“During the operation, a e-bike was successfully stopped and a 23-year-old man from Monkton was arrested on suspicion fail to stop, dangerous driving, possession of controlled drugs, drug drive and no insurance.

“He has been released on bail pending further police enquiries. The e-bike was recovered and is in the process for destruction.

“Officers continue to investigate reports of verbal threats and anti-social behaviour linked to e-bike riders in Pembroke Dock and are working to identify those responsible and ensure they are dealt with appropriately,” they added.

Police urge anyone who witnesses any anti-social or threatening behaviour to report it; and anyone who has any information that could help them identify any e-bikers responsible, to please get in touch.
