A Milford man has been fined in court and lost his driving licence after admitting a series of charges.

Forty-eight-year-old Mark Edwards, of the Mount Estate, pleaded guilty to driving his Fiat Punto on the A4076 on December 4, of last year, with a proportion of drugs in his system when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He also admitted charges of possessing 49 grams of cannabis and 0.22 grams of cocaine, on January 10.

Prosecutor Mr. Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told magistrates that for the driving offence, Mr. Edwards had been stopped by police due to a defect, and when they spoke to him, officers could smell cannabis on him.

“A search warrant was executed at the defendant’s home address and the drugs were seized, which he admitted were for his own personal use,” explained Mr. Pritchard-Jones.

Magistrates disqualified Mr. Edwards from driving for 12 months and fined him £120 for the offence. He was also fined £120 for the drugs possession charge, and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £170 and a £30 victim surcharge.
