A man has admitted kicking another man during a serious assault in the centre of Tenby.

Steven Boxall, aged 46, admitted assaulting Gareth Edwards causing him actual bodily harm during an attack on August 24 last year.

Boxell denied a more serious charge of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm.

The pleas were accepted by the prosecution.

Kevin Jones, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court the assault was a serious one and had been caught on a CCTV camera.

Huw Rees, the barrister representing Boxall, said he accepted kicking the victim.

“There is a background here about what happened in the street immediately before,” he added.

Mr. Rees said his client had mental health issues and suffered from depression.

Boxall, now living in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, will be sentenced on May 6.

He was granted bail meanwhile, but ordered to stay away from licensed premises in Tenby.
