Angle RNLI’s all weather lifeboat was launched in the early hours of Tuesday to search for a possible person in the water off Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock.

The first informant had reported hearing a whistle, similar to a lifejacket type, being blown in sequences of three.

The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason was launched at 12.31 am and was on the scene in 14 minutes. The lifeboat’s Y Boat was also deployed and an area between the Pembroke Dock ferry terminal and the Cleddau Bridge was searched extensively, assisted by a Milford Haven Port Authority pilot vessel and two tugs.

With no sightings and no further information, the search was cancelled and the lifeboat returned to her station, where she was rehoused at 2.15 am.
