A Pembroke Dock woman has been fined in court after admitting cannabis possession.

Twenty-seven-year-old Kimberly Sly, of King Street, pleaded guilty to possessing 3.6 grammes of cannabis, when she appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that police officers executed a search warrant at the defendant’s address on November 4, and found various items containing cannabis.

Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told magistrates that his client suffered with anxiety and Bipolar, and takes cannabis to self medicate.

“Prescription drugs leave her in a complete state of lethargy. She smokes in private and keeps herself to herself,” he explained.

Magistrates fined the defendant £80 for the offence and ordered her to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
