Tragic news has emerged from Pembrokeshire, with Dyfed-Powys Police confirming that a person has died following a road traffic collision on the A40 near Robeston Wathen this morning.
Despite the valiant efforts of emergency services, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The A40 remained closed for several hours while authorities conducted their investigation.
Pembrokeshire County Council warned motorists of the ‘serious collision’ on the A40 at the time of the RTC, with the road closed in both directions between Canaston Bridge and Penblewin, and diversions put in place.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police stated: "We attended a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A40, near Robeston Wathen, at around 9.15am on Wednesday, August 19.
"Officers attended alongside the ambulance and fire and rescue services and the road was closed.
"Sadly the driver of the vehicle passed away at the scene.
"Next of kin have been informed and will continue to be supported by specialist officers.”
