A delivery driver has been handed a motoring ban after getting behind the wheel of a vehicle with a quantity of cannabis in his system
Twenty-two-year-old Conor Ethan Roblin, of Southdown Close, Pembroke appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday (March 3), to admit the offence.
Prosecutor Dennis Davies told the court that police carried out a routine stop check on the defendant in his Vauxhall Astra on Freeman’s Way in Haverfordwest on September 16, with a road swipe test proving positive.
Defence solicitor John Allchurch told the court that M. Roblin was a single man who lived with his parents and worked as a delivery driver.
“Fortunately his employers are able to provide him with work other than driving.
“He occasionally uses cannabis, and had taken some the previous day,” he added.
Magistrates handed the defendant a 12 month driving disqualification and fined him £250.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £32 victim surcharge.
