A Cosheston man facing charges of possessing thousands of indecent images of children will appear at Swansea Crown Court next month.

Sixty-three-year-old Andrew Durrant, pleaded guilty to five separate charges when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Dennis Davies told the court that police officers searched the defendant’s address last June with a warrant, after they had received information.

Mr. Durrant is charged with downloading 335 indecent Category A images of children; and 499 Category B images, between October 28, 2006 and June 4, 2017; and 31,050 category C images between November 23, 2003 and June 4, 2017.

The defendant was also found to be in possession of 1,157 prohibited images of a child; and admitted possessing an extreme pornographic image which portrayed a person performing explicit acts of intercourse with live animals which were of an obscene character, on June 4.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction of the case and the matter was transferred to Swansea Crown Court where Mr. Durrant, who was released on unconditional bail, will next appear on May 25.
