RNLI crews and fellow rescue services from Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire were tasked late night on Good Friday to search for a person reported in the water at Milford Haven.
Angle RNLI’s lifeboat crew were paged at 10.24 pm (April 7) following a report of a possible person in the water at Wards Pier, Milford Haven.
Launching shortly after, the lifeboat made best speed to the pier and commenced a hasty shoreline search west towards Milford docks. With the initial search fruitless, the crew then commenced a parallel track search passed by the coastguard.
Coastguard Rescue teams from Dale, Broad Haven and Llansteffan were also tasked to rendezvous with local police officers and began shoreline searches.
A police NPAS helicopter began a detailed search from above, and Coastguard Rescue helicopter R187 from St Athan was also proceeding. At this point, our flank ALB from St Davids was also requested to launch.
As the crew were on their penultimate leg of the search an update was received that the casualty had been located by the police ashore, having previously been in the water.
With this, all assets were stood down and the lifeboat made the short journey back to station where she was readied for service once again at 11.45 pm.
