This month, fundraiser Steve Hughes will celebrate his 75th birthday by walking 75 miles in seven days to raise money for the Pembrokeshire branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind - finishing at the Cresselly Arms on October 19 where he and fellow walkers and sponsors will enjoy a well-deserved beer or two!

He will be walking just over 10 miles a day for 7 days starting from the Village Hall in Robeston Wathen at 10 am on Thursday, October 13, ending up at Cresswell Quay on the following Wednesday.

Steve is hoping that the good people of Pembrokeshire will be able to sponsor a walk and perhaps join him for all, or some, or any part of each walk. He’ll need your help to keep him going!

Setting off each day from 10 am, after starting the challenge from Robeston Wathen on the Thursday, the following day Steve will start from Tenby South Beach Car Park, then on Saturday from Cosheston School and St Florence Village Shop on the Sunday.

On the Monday he will walk from the Milton Brewery Inn, and Saundersfoot Regency Car Park the following day, before finishing the challenge from Cresswell Quay on the Wednesday.

You can follow Steve’s progress and donate online via Just Giving, at: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/steve-hughes75at75

Or if you see Steve on his journey you can fill in one of the sponsor forms he is splashing around at all opportunities!

It costs over £50,000 to train and support each guide dog partnership - and your donation will be supporting a life-changer for someone with sight loss.

Steve hopes to see many of you over the seven walking days, and if you’d like to join him you can contact him on 07585 212618.
