At their recent Charter and Handover Dinner, Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions Club celebrated their 30th anniversary. Outgoing president John Griffiths summarised another successful year for the Lions and thanked the members and all the people who supported the club with donations of money, gifts and, most important of all, their time, over the previous year. John was pleased to report that during the year the club had made major donations to Wales Air Ambulance, Macmillan Cancer Support and Ty Hafan, and equally importantly to local causes and community groups. As John said: "We wouldn't have been able to do this without unstinting support from local businesses, the public and indeed from visitors to the area". John then had the pleasure of handing over the presidency to Lion Eddie Weldrake in front of Lion District Governor Adrian Hicks, guests and members of the club and their partners. The Lions' next major event will be the annual Paella Festival on the harbour at Tenby on Sunday, July 29, where once again Miguel's famous paella will be cooked and there will be a full programme of live entertainment.
